Current
Born in Westminster, Crandall has been a Colorado resident for the last 18 years. He is a founding board member of ARTS!Lafayette.org, a non-profit in support of the arts in Lafayette, Colorado. Crandall is a former member of the ArtsHub board in Lafayette, in support of teaching arts, dance and theater to the youth.
Artistic History
Before moving to Colorado, Crandall lived in Santa Fe for over 10 years where he worked in a photo arts lab at DE Vargas Center, for a number of artists, with their graphic needs. In Santa Fe he also was a Tae Kwon Do instructor and worked as a Silversmith for Heartline Studios. Crandall studied Auto Cad and Computer Animation at Santa Fe Community College where his computer animation student project was one of 21 selected worldwide, by Siggraph, to play alongside DreamWorks and Pixar animations, at their national convention. He has also consulted with the Allan Houser Foundation in the archiving of Houser’s his very prolific catalogue.
For the last 14 years Crandall has worked for the Boulder Daily Camera on their computer and social networks. During his time there he was a producer at Second Story Garage Studio (Second Story Garage on YouTube) Crandall helped in the design and in construction of the studio/art space.
Before working at the Camera, Crandall was a virtual reality photographer for Active Currents. In the capacity of project lead, Crandall, as photographer and Director of Virtual Imaging, created the largest interactive virtual reality tour of Vail Colorado, containing 300 tour locations.
Crandall lives in Lafayette, Colorado where he resides with his wife, Lisa.
