Countdown to Boogie at the Broadmoor

By Alan Crandall
Leftover Salmon has out done themselves! The Colorado band, now enjoying their 30th year, is prepared to boogie in the springs. In an interview earlier this year, Leftover Salmon’s Drew Emmitt spilled the beans that this year’s epic adventure would be in Colorado Springs at the 100-year-old Broadmoor Hotel, a big surprise to Salmon fans. After holding residency at the Sanley Hotel in  Estes Park for many years, it was exciting that Salmon Heads would now be able to enjoy the luxury amenities the historic Broadmoor Hotel has to offer.

Then it got better, in fact, way better.  Since Emmitt’s announcement, the band, on a regular basis, announced a new major group or artist that would join them for the 3 day event. Almost on a weekly basis the band made artists announcements that culminated in a lineup including special guests like: THE HIGH COUNTRY HORNS ft. SKERIK, JENNIFER HARTSWICK, NATALIE CREESMAN, SAM BUSH, LUKAS NELSON & PROMISE OF THE REAL, NITTY GRITTY DIRT, BLUEGRASS GENERALS featuring Chris Pandolfi, Andy Hall, Sam Bush, Dave Bruzza, and Greg Garrison, ZACH DEPUTY, SOUTHERN AVENUE, THE SWEET LILLIES, TENTH MOUNTAIN DIVISION, PIXIE and THE PARTYGRASS BOYS, DEADPHISH ORCHESTRA, ERIK DEUTSCH’S FALLING FLOWERS, WOODSHED RED, SALLY VAN METER and DJ NEDZA.

There will be all kinds of shenanigans happening this weekend, you can even enter to participate in the Gong Show, here is a note from the event page on Facebook explaining the event and more information about the Boogie at the Broadmoor:
