Attendees of Kyle’s Brew Fest will notice several changes this year, the biggest of which is the location.
Staged the past few years at Boulder Beer Co., this year’s event is slated for 3-7 p.m. Saturday outside Liquor Mart in Boulder.
“Boulder Beer is still the sponsor and they’re still super awesome,” Hollingsworth said. “And I’m very excited to be trying out Liquor Mart — it’s a larger space and more centrally located, so people can walk or bike in.”
Admission to the 21-and-older event, $30 in advance or at the gate, includes a limited-edition pint glass, samples from more than 30 local and national breweries pouring more than 60 beers, access to a silent auction of music memorabilia and a performance by the Kyle Hollingsworth Band. Proceeds from the event benefit Conscious Alliance.
Hollingsworth, keyboardist with The String Cheese Incident, also will celebrate the release of his new solo album, “Speed of Life,” at the brew fest. He has invited special guests — including members of The Motet, Elephant Revival, Big Gigantic and others, many of whom play on the album — to join his band during the performance.
Fans also will have an opportunity to purchase the album at the event in advance of its official Aug. 19 release date by SCI Fidelity Records.
Hollingsworth, an avid homebrewer, also has collaborated with several breweries over the years, and many of these beers will be pouring at the festival, including projects with Avery Brewing, FATE Brewing and Epic Brewing.
Additionally, three collaborative beers paired with singles from the album will be available at the festival. Fans who purchase these beers elsewhere will find information on the packaging on how to download specially released “hop tracks” for personal consumption. Read More…
