Once again there is just so many great options for entertainment this New Year’s Eve that it can leave a jam band fan not knowing which way to turn. First to kick off was Yonder Mountain String Band at the Boulder Theater. They started their new year’s run on Friday with performances at the theater through New Year’s Eve. It should be noted that their performance at the Theater on Dec. 30th is a benefit for the Colorado Flood victims, good luck getting a ticket, the show has been sold out for weeks.

run at the Broomfield’s 1st Bank Center that kicked off last evening. Tonight will be the second show in the series with the Flaming Lips in support. From the bands website: The Flaming Lips will now perform a special set as will Steve Berlin of Los Lobos on 12/29, and Karl Denson & Chris Littlefield (Tiny Universe Horns) will be on hand for both the 28th & 29th. One can only imagine the musical collaborations that will come out of these epic Incidents. SCI will take a break tomorrow night continue their 20th Anniversary celebration on NYE. Tickets are still available for tonight.
