The Vermont group, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, performed the third in a series of five Colorado shows at the Ogden Theatre Sunday evening. After two sold out nights as an opening act at Morrison Colorado’s Red Rocks, Friday for Kenny Chesney and Saturday for the Avett Brothers, Potter announced that this was her first time as headliner for the Ogden Theatre.
Formed in 2002, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, GPN to their fans, have the experience
and road tested material that have culminated in a band worthy of headlining at most any concert. Since their 5th CD released last year, called simply “Grace
Potter and the Nocturnals,” the band has embarked on a string of successful shows and appearances. Potter recently performed a duet, “You and Tequila” with Country star Kenny Chesney on NBC’s Today
Show, and is planning solo dates on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Cee Lo’s new Fuse show “Talking With Strangers.” Potter is spreading the GPN word and rapidly growing an already large group of dedicated fans.
Potter’s blues filled rock vocals and high energy stage performance paired with the Nocturnals hard driving rock and roll sound was well received by a packed Ogden crowd.
In attendance at Sunday’s show was a fan that had been to over 100 GPN shows and others who counted their Potter concerts in factors of 10. Some of the fans were planning on seeing every Colorado show and later in the summer heading back east to attend GPN’s first Grand Point North 2-day festival in Burlington, Vermont.
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will continue their Colorado concerts Wednesday at the Belly Up in Aspen and Thursday at Howelsen Hill in Steamboat Springs. If you get a chance, go For More information visit www.gracepotter.com.
